Heyyy there!!

And welcome!

Most of modern life feels kind of weightless. We spend 8 hours staring at a glowing rectangle, pushing pixels around, and at the end of the day, our muscles aren’t tired, our hands are clean, and we have nothing tangible to show for it. I get sick of that real quick.

So, I started this space—Open the Book Project—is just what it sounds like. It’s exactly what the name says.

It's me being an open book.

I'm striving to be fully open and honest about all things: my wins, my ugly failures, my messiness, and the actual physical work it takes to build a real life that ill be proud of! If im going to talk about learning traditional skills, stewardship, and faith, im not gonna do it thru a glossy, perfect filter. I wanna show the real stuff. The struggles and successes, and joys and tears- of all the things that I am striving to master.

What im Doing Here

If you’re looking for a neatly packaged niche or an expert's manual, you’re probably in the wrong place. I’m just figuring out how to build a life of deep meaning and intentionality from the ground up. This means working with my hands, getting dirty, and learning things the hard way.

Here is what you’re going to find me rambling about here:

  • Stewardship & Lost Arts: Learning how to actually take care of things instead of throwing them away. Mending clothes, baking from scratch, harvesting wild herbs, and practicing traditional skills that people used to just call "daily life" before everything became disposable.
  • Building and Repair attempts: Real, physical remodeling and upcycling work. Restoring old spaces, handling tools, giving old clothes new life, and dealing with the trials of hands-on trades.
  • The Bible & Old Texts: Looking at scripture and ancient history from my current perspective, and honest, unhurried reflections on what these texts actually say about how we’re supposed to live, work, and move through the world.
  • Human Nature Studies & Observations: Looking closely at people, thier behavior, and the quiet patterns of everyday life. Exploring how people respond to certain things, why we do what we do, and observing the full spectrum of the dynamics of human character.
